Name: Sarah ^_^ Birthday: 5/25/1991 Gender: Female
Interests: I am a self-proclaimed web design genius. I love to draw but I am not a tortured soul. I also hate Bush with the firey intensity of 1000 suns. I don't like organized religion much at all. All hail the Flying Spegetti Monster. I like the music I listen to, most of it just happens to be alternative and indie. Do not touch my muffins or I will hunt you down and kill you. I wish I knew Japanese, and I'm learning French. That was just more than you ever wanted to know about me. LLAMA!!!

| 10:43 I finally sneezed. I've been waiting for that to happen for about 3 hours.
I shall miss reading Office fan fiction late at night and generally lazing about my house... My second to last night at home before fencing camp and Greece... Then three days at home and school. I also don't know how tomorrow's going to work out, I have things I need to do, but then I also want to see Mat again, go to club, and at some point Avery's supposed to be sleeping over. Oy.

| "Hey Mickey!" is possibly one of the most annoying songs ever written. Up there with certain DDR electronic pop nonsense.

| Once, in the car on a trip with my family, we all attempted to speak like Yoda for an entire five minutes. It didn't work so well. My mother was pretty hopeless, my father didn't really say a whole lot, and my sister and I did the best. It was hard though. And we were eating too many weird flavored jelly beans. They make jalapeƱo now, did you know?

| 1081 days on xanga. Two weeks from an official three year landmark. And I haven't updated since March (and I'm pretty sure that was just to bitch). About time.
I first created this page (due to the lovely Julie who already knew about it in her own circles), nearly three years ago. That would have been (because this is now the summer before my Junior year of high school) the summer I was going into eighth grade. This has been a collection, nay, portfolio, if you will, of my most
bitter angst, my more bizarre musings, and a veritable compilation of
internet spam for three years. Oh good lord was I an annoying 13 year old (my sister is now coming onto 13 and god is she annoying as well). Hopefully I've grown up a little since then. My laptop has. Three years ago my delete key didn't stick, and it was in its childhood. And now it has some scratches and issues with DVDs. Oh, and it's pretty much obsolete (but that doesn't matter to me. It'll always be my baby. You can't imagine what I've accomplished on this Vaio.) My old mouse broke, and I obtained a Wacom. The speakers still suck. But it's the same, reliable (I think it's only frozen on me two or three times in all the years I've had it), lappy I love.
As for me, I couldn't say I'm much worse for the wear. Lost weight, gained weight, hair got longer (its been cut... once?), started fencing, haven't stopped biting my nails, got off my braces, chipped my tooth, still don't need glasses, still don't wear makeup, sometimes wear skirts, have worn a dress in public (twice. The scandal!)... can (sort of) drive, had a crush returned by a boy, danced with a boy, been kissed, am on my second boyfriend, have new friends, have lost a couple old ones... learned to loathe chemistry, got As in math, stayed up WAY TOO LATE (pulled all-nighters during the school year -- bad idea unless loaded up on caffeine), failed two tests (not as in a B-, C, or D, but as in a score in the low 50s... booyah), got a therapist, had art in multiple shows, been out of the country (besides Canada, although I've gone there too recently), got my ears pierced, got my right ear pierced a second time, worn out socks, had issues with pants, started wearing shorts (not very short, mind you)... and music... well THAT has changed (and I don't mean just dropping the bass clarinet and playing guitar for a short stint). I think I've gone from liking about three bands, to actually listening to music (occasionally). I think I used to listen to the Barenaked Ladies, The Beatles, and Ani DiFranco pretty much exclusively. I was influenced by Julie, hence a short-lived interest in 3 Doors Down, Three Day Grace, Evanescence, Maroon 5, etc. At some point I got really into Green Day. Then I started using my mom's turntable down in our basement (hooray for vinyl!) which yielded a short interest in Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell (I still like them but it's really too much trouble to listen to vinyl rather than on the computer), The Doors, Pink Floyd... etc. Then, somehow, through the internet, I stumbled upon bands such as Death Cab for Cutie, was introduced to the Decemberists by my cousin, helped along by finally seeing Garden State, obtaining the soundtrack, and falling in love with the Shins... And now I've built a list of music worth listening to (not that my former music wasn't, I still love the Barenaked Ladies et al, but now the list is just rather more extensive and slightly more varied.) Just goes to show, I guess.
And soon I'm going to be worrying about taking pointless standardized tests and looking for colleges and doing ridiculous amounts of homework and attempting to help the team break our school's record for women's undefeated fencing seasons (so far we're tied at 3, this will be our make-it or break-it year.) But I don't have to start thinking quite yet. It's only 3:40 in the morning in the first week of August... I still have a terrifyingly exhausting week of fencing camp in New York and a week in Greece left to enjoy. Two more years of high school... six more years of SCHOOL (unless I do anything differently...) Oh god.
Oh, and high school, just for the record, is not all it's cracked up to be. As my Freshman year math teacher, Mr. Atlas, once said, if your high school years are the best years of your life, then I pity you. Imagine peaking at 18 and spending the rest of your life in a downward slope. No thank you, I'm still hoping to put that off for another decade or so.
I guess all I'm trying to say is, this blog has stood by me as I've waited for interesting things to present themselves to me, and maybe I'll get it up and running again someday. So, to xanga, to whoever has subscribed to me (being my friends, of course), to the internet at large, I love you all, and I really ought to go to bed.
